CLINICAL HYPNOTHERAPY

Research
There is a current and growing body of research showing the effectiveness of Gut-Directed Hypnotherapy for the management and reduction of IBS symptoms. I have attached links to some relevant research papers which will help you to make an informed decision if this is the right choice for you. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require any further information or would like to ask questions about the information presented.
Various studies report efficacy of around 76%. Efficacy isn’t measured by cure, its measured by alleviation of symptoms such as altered bowel habits, bloating, diarrhoea, nausea, constipation. The efficacy of the sessions will be decided by you as we go through therapy. We will evaluate each session how things are going, what has improved, what have you been pleased to notice? We will aim for a 7 session programme, including the Initial Consultation. Some people decide to stop at this point and others may want to do more sessions. 6 sessions is a really good evaluation point, although we will be evaluating as we go along
Hypnotherapy may also help relieve other IBS symptoms, fatigue, pain and urinary problems. It also appears to help anxiety and psychological wellbeing.
